Meezaan Jafri, born Syed Meezaan Ahmed Jaffrey on March 9, 1995, is a promising actor in the vibrant landscape of Hindi cinema. Son of renowned actor Jaaved Jaaferi and grandson of the legendary comedian Jagdeep, Meezaan has carved his own path in the film industry with his impressive talent and dedication.

Early Life:

Born into a family deeply rooted in Bollywood, Meezaan pursued his education with a blend of academic and creative pursuits. After studying business at Franklin & Marshall College in Pennsylvania, USA, he followed his passion for cinema and enrolled in film direction and editing at the School of Visual Arts in New York.

Career Beginnings:

Meezaan’s journey into the world of cinema began behind the scenes as an assistant to acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He served as a body double for Ranveer Singh in “Padmaavat” and contributed as an assistant director for notable films like “Bajirao Mastani” and “Gangubai Kathiawadi.”

Breakthrough with “Malaal”:

In 2019, Meezaan made his much-awaited acting debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s romantic drama “Malaal.” Portraying the role of an unemployed Marathi youth opposite Sharmin Segal, his performance garnered critical acclaim. He received a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut, marking a promising start to his acting career.

Stepping into Mainstream Cinema:

Meezaan continued to showcase his versatility with his roles in subsequent films. In 2021, he starred in the comedy-drama “Hungama 2,” showcasing his comedic timing alongside seasoned actors. Despite mixed reviews, Meezaan’s presence added charm to the film.
